What cameras do you use, are they digital? Do you do DVD's?
All our wedding video production cameras are 3-chip modern professional Digital cameras, capable of filming well even in low-light conditions. The digital route means virtually loss-less picture quality when the final master is on DVD which we do either as a straight DVD movie with auto-chapters inserted or for an additional price (see our optional extras in the pricing and filming options area) with a menu and specific chapters authored.
Either way the quality of today's 3-chip digital cameras thanks to technology means modern the wedding video or dvd, and the entire wedding videographer industry, has moved a long way forward from the traditional "video" of yester-year. The quality and style today are incomparable to that of even a few short years ago.
For our prestige / Vip range we also now offer multiple cameras, sound recordist and HD (high definition) for the latest awe-inspiring quality.

When do i pay and can i pay by debit or credit card?
| |
|
| |
|
 |
A deposit of £150 is required to confirm your wedding videography booking on options 1-3. For option four and London wedding video production, a £250 deposit is required. We do take credit and debit card payments, and these are subject to a 3% charge on credit cards ( not debit cards) . The deposit of £150 or £250 is then deducted from the final balance, this being due either in advance of the wedding or at latest on the day itself prior to the Service: any payment later than this is subject to a £30 charge and no editing work will be begun until all payment is received: |

you will go into queue system from the date all payment and anything else we require is available. A deposit of £350 is required for our VIP / prestige range. What time do you arrive from and stay to?
This all depends on the wedding videography Option chosen. With Option 1 we start approximately an hour before the service at the Church or Civil service location and film through until 8pm. You can add extra hours filming onto this option at £45 per hourr: this rate includes the additional tape-stock, capturing time and system space used and the additional editing time also involved.
With Option 2 it is as above but we stay till 9pm and include 2 cameras (often though not always with 2 cameramen). £45 per hour is an option for you for any additional wedding video filming with 1 cameraman or £85 per hr if two cameramen are requested. This is agreed with you either in advance or at the time: if this is requested at the time on the day itself we cannot and will not guarantee to be able to provide this service at short notice but usually do and usually can
With Option 3 there 2 cameramen up until 8pm, thereafter there will be either one cameraman after 8pm or in some cases at our discretion two cameraman staying till an agreed-in-advance time up until 10pm. Again it’s either £45 per hr for one cameraman to stay later than 10pm or £85 for 2 cameramen per hour (if applicable)

|
Option 3 includes the option of either having a photo montage or the bride leaving the house: if you choose the latter one cameraman will be set at the service location while one cameraman will be at the House approximately an hour before the bride is due to leave (exact timings are agreed in advance dependent on exact circumstances).
With Option 4 it is tailor made to your wishes and agreed in advance.
How many camera-men will there be?
With Option 1 there's one cameraman with one camera
With Option 2 there's two cameras, either one cameraman with two cameras or 2 cameramen: this is entirely at our discretion.
With Option 3 there are 2 cameramen until 8pm thereafter either one cameraman or 2 at our discretion.
With Option 4 there's a minimum of 2 at all times though there may be third cameraman at certain times or locations or a sound recordist dependent on what is agreed in advance.
Are you discreet and friendly?
 |
Yes is the short answer! We pride ourselves on being friendly, approachable, considerate and professional. Our filming style is a quiet and discreet one: it often amazes us how we can film a wedding all day and people praise us afterwards saying "we forgot you were there". Let the Photographer do all the shouting and arranging! We'll just capture great natural footage and edit it into a movie that'll make you happy, laugh and maybe even cry! |

How many copies of the video or DVD do I get with each option - and can I order more at what price?
Option 1 includes one master vhs in case, Option 2 includes 2 VHS copies in printed cases, option 3 includes a (non-menu version) master DVD (up to 2 hrs in length) and 1 Vhs master copy all in printed cases. Option 4 includes 2 master DVD's with chapters and menu and 3 master VHS tapes in deluxe cases.
You can order a dvd which is not as standard in the above options or additional copies:
You can order a first DVD master (if not part of the package) at £50 each. Subsequent DVD's and for those with Option 3 or above wanting additional dvd's are £25 each. Order three or more and they are £20 each. Or order a set of seven for £77 (or £99 all-in for option one or two including the mastering of the first DVD - normally £50).
Can we acquire all the unedited footage you have filmed?
We can run off copies of ALL the footage unedited onto VHS tape at £30 per 3 hr tape used or £30 per 2 hr DVD used.
Do you film while we are eating?
No, we do not bother you or your guests when you sit down for your Wedding breakfast or whilst eating the Buffet: we will scan the tables and quests to capture the footage of the place, a feel for the decorations etc, the event and the people and film you being clapped in etc but then we'll leave you in peace to enjoy yourselves.
| Our crew will take this time to have a break themselves and grab a bite and have a drink as it’s a long day's filming and requires a lot of concentration. We do politely request that you arrange some from of refreshment with the Reception venue for our crew to be made available so that they do not have to leave the venue to find suitable catering facilities and risk missing any events. |
|
| |
|
We also request that we are given at least five minutes notice prior to the start of the speeches to get set up and to be ready to roll cameras: we will tell your best-man and the hotel Conference and banqueting manager where we'll be and how to contact us. What events do you normally film during the day?
Each wedding is different and the filming reflects what you have told us in advance about your wishes and the style you prefer: In general though here is a brief guide to what we film (dependent on option chosen with regard to timings etc and number of cameramen)
» Establishing shots of venue(s)
» Arrivals and scene setting shots
» Arrival of bride (with 2 cameramen: the Mother of the bride and bridesmaids too)
» groom in church (with 2 cameramen)
» The service (please check you are allowed to film at your location)
» The signing of the register (please note in some places, not all, we cannot film the actual signing but will capture the posed shots)
» leaving the church, general events and photography session, inc guests and confetti
» Either leaving the Church in car /carriage etc or arriving at reception, sometimes both if safe to do so and possible logistically
» General shots, drinks, more photos, line-up etc as applicable to your wedding day
» The speeches
» The first dance
» The party after the dance (dependent on time and Option chosen)
With option 2 and above a highlights section with some slow-motion and effects from the day set to a music track of your choice and is added as a finale.
How long is the video / DVD and can you add effects or titles etc
| |
|
| |
|
 |
We have high performance 3-chip digital cameras and digital non-linear edit suites for all productions: although Option 1 is a more basic edit, for the rest this gives you excellent picture quality and unlimited editing potential: from adding stylish black and white or Sepia effect sequences to slow motion or dissolves, audio fades, credits and titles shown seamlessly over the video pictures etc. |
| |
|
We can add style, creativity and charisma to your video production in a tv-style discreet and professional edit. The length is up to you, we recommend anywhere from 1hr or 1hr 30mins going upto 2hrs this being the maximum recommended for DVD quality.
We can of course make your production as long or as short as you wish: simply let us know: It's Your Wedding day and Your Wedding Video. We also ask you to choose and supply the music too: we'd never dream of trying to choose that: we will not get involved at all in the music you choose or use for your personal wedding video: that's completely up to you.
Do you charge more for London or South East weddings? What about other further distance weddings?
| Yes unfortunately we do: this reflects both the Market rate and the additional costs incurred by us. We only do London or South East Weddings for Option 3 or Option 4: we charge an extra £200 on Option 3 and an extra £400 for Option 4. |
|
For other weddings that are over 50 miles in total distance there and back from our central Birmingham base we agree a flat rate petrol and time charge, usually in the region of £35-£75 depending om costs and travel time.
What should we look for in a Wedding video production company or Wedding 'Videography' supplier?
| |
|
| |
|
 |
In summary like anything else you pay good money for, like any other service you want a Professional job, especially on this one specific day as you will have no other chance to record it and it's almost certainly cost you an arm and leg already!
Look for a professional wedding video company rather than a part-time charlie or someone keen but new and learning: having the experience and the back-up of modern reliable equipment and crew are crucial in this specific field. |
See an example of their work: are they experienced, is the quality good? Can they edit and tell a story? Are the productions cheesy or badly filmed? Do they flow naturally?
Perhaps most importantly are they discreet and friendly whilst not missing anything important: can you just leave them to quietly get on with their filming without bothering you or your guests?
Is their approach that it's YOUR wedding day, not the Photographers or the Chauffer's or the Chef's etc, and that its YOUR wishes that come first? It's a service industry after all and here at Charismatic Professional Wedding videos we know what we'd want on our Big day!
